Research Interest

Our research focus on discovering novel cost-effective method of fabrication of functional devices which can be deployed over large areas and fabricated on unconventional substrates. To this end, we rely on two strategies-

  • based on simple nano-imprinting technique to fabricate textured structures followed by thin film deposition to realize planar 2d multi-material and active meta-surfaces for electronic and photonic applications.
  • the other using conventional thermal drawing techniques to realize hybrid or multi-material fibers with a wide range of functionalities.

We do study fundamental physical and material aspects for fabrication of such devices and their physical properties, however at the heart we are interested to develop novel products which are industrially viable, economically important and socially responsible for energy harvesting, sensing, health care and smart fabrics.
