The work demonstrates micro-relays with liquid metal dispersion for switching action!! The work is collaborative work between Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and ISRO.

Micro-relays with Liquid Metal Dispersion: This work demonstrates electric field assisted liquid metal (LM) dispersion based smart switch. We utilize a dispersion of LM in silicone oil, leveraging the fluidity and surface tension of the LM droplets to dynamically from and disrupt a conductive pathway under an applied electric field. Exploiting this field-responsive behavior, we demonstrate the application of the LM dispersion as a micro relay in circuit. Further, we systematically analyzed the stability and operational behavior of the device, identifying the critical conditions required for reliable performance.
